Overview

Granola is an AI notepad for people in back-to-back meetings. It listens to your meeting audio directly on your Mac, Windows PC, or phone (no bot joins the call) and turns your rough typed notes into clean, structured summaries with action items the moment the meeting ends. It works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and in-person conversations, so an EdPlus staffer can stay fully present in a meeting and still walk away with polished notes and a searchable record of what was decided.

Teaching uses

Featured ways to use this tool

01
Capture meeting notes without a bot
Run Granola during a weekly marketing standup or a design review — it transcribes from your device audio with no visible bot in the call, then merges your quick jotted notes with the transcript into an organized summary.
02
Turn calls into action items and recaps
After a partner or vendor call, use Granola’s action-item extraction to get a next-steps list immediately, then paste it into a follow-up email or Slack message so nothing agreed on the call gets lost.
03
Ask questions across your meeting history
Use Granola Chat to query past meetings — for example, “What did we decide about the fall campaign launch date?” — instead of re-reading weeks of notes or re-watching recordings.
04
Feed decisions into team workflows
On the paid plan, connect Granola to Slack, Notion, or Zapier so meeting summaries land where the team already works — for example, turning sprint-planning decisions into Jira ticket drafts or a shared project folder.
Getting started

How to get started

1
Request a seat on the EdPlus account
  • Use the Request access button on this page. Granola passed ASU’s vendor risk review in Spring 2026 and EdPlus runs the team account.
  • Note: Meetings with any military branches cannot be transcribed using Granola
2
Install the app
3
Connect your calendar
  • Granola pulls meeting titles and attendees from your ASU calendar so notes attach to the right event.
4
Turn off model training
  • After logging into the application, open ‘Settings’ by clicking ‘EdPlus @ ASU’ in the bottom-left corner of the app.
  • From there, select ‘Preferences’ and make sure "Use my data to improve models for everyone" is toggled off.
Consent to record
  • Always let participants know at the start of a meeting that it's being transcribed.
  • For any meeting that includes someone located outside of Arizona, you must get each participant's consent before transcribing it with Granola.
