Overview

Zapier is a no-code automation tool that connects the apps you already use, like Slack, Outlook, Google Sheets, Salesforce, and Qualtrics, so repetitive tasks happen automatically. You build a "Zap": when something happens in one app (a form is submitted), Zapier does something in another (adds a row to a spreadsheet and posts to Slack), with no programming required. EdPlus already uses Zapier behind the scenes for automations, so it is a practical first step into AI-adjacent workflow automation for marketing, ops, and student-facing teams. Zapier also includes built-in AI steps, so a Zap can draft, summarize, or classify text as part of the workflow.

Teaching uses

Featured ways to use this tool

01
Route form submissions automatically
When someone fills out a Google Form or Qualtrics survey — a webinar signup, a prompt submission, an event RSVP — Zapier can add the response to a spreadsheet or table, notify the right Slack channel, and send the person a confirmation email, all without anyone touching it.
02
Keep teams informed without copy-paste
Post an automatic Slack message when a Jira ticket changes status, a new file lands in a shared Drive folder, or a Coda table gets a new row — so project updates reach the team the moment they happen.
03
Add AI steps inside a workflow
Zapier’s built-in AI actions can draft, summarize, or classify text mid-Zap. For example: when a new student inquiry email arrives, have AI classify the topic and draft a suggested reply, then drop both into a review queue for a staff member to approve.
04
Sync data between systems on a schedule
Move rows between tools that don’t talk to each other — for instance, pushing new entries from a content calendar in Coda into a Zapier Table or Google Sheet each day so reporting dashboards stay current without manual exports.
Getting started

How to get started

1
Request access to the EdPlus workspace
  • Use the Request access button on this page. Shared automations belong in the team account rather than a personal one.
2
Tell us what you want to automate
  • Include the trigger and the systems involved. We can often point you at an existing Zap instead of a new build.
Build in the EdPlus workspace
  • Once you are added, sign in at https://zapier.com and switch to the EdPlus workspace before creating anything.
