Overview

Claude is an AI assistant from Anthropic that you talk to in plain English. You can ask it to draft or edit writing, summarize long documents, answer questions, analyze spreadsheets, and even build small interactive tools. It is especially good at careful, multi-step work: it can read very long materials (reports, transcripts, whole websites' worth of text) in one go and keep the details straight. For EdPlus staff, it works like a capable teammate for deep-focus tasks like writing, research, analysis, and coding. EdPlus has enterprise access, so you don't need a personal subscription.

Teaching uses

Featured ways to use this tool

01
Draft and refine student communications
Give Claude your key points and audience and let it draft outreach emails, program announcements, or FAQ answers in ASU’s voice — for example, turning a dense policy change into a clear three-email sequence for online students, then tightening the tone until it sounds right.
02
Summarize long documents and meetings
Upload a 60-page vendor report, a meeting transcript, or a stack of survey responses and ask for the decisions, action items, and themes. Claude’s large context window means it can digest the whole thing at once instead of you skimming for an hour.
03
Analyze data and build quick prototypes
Drop in a CSV of enrollment or campaign data and ask questions in plain English, or ask Claude to build an interactive chart, calculator, or page mockup as an Artifact — a working visual you can share with your team the same day.
04
Set up Projects as a team knowledge base
Load your brand guidelines, style guide, or program docs into a Claude Project so every draft it produces follows EdPlus standards automatically — no re-pasting context into each new chat.

Claude Design Basics
Watch this before you build your next deck. The session starts from a prompt plus two uploaded PDFs, Claude asks its clarifying questions, and the deck gets refined by drawing directly on the slides and telling it what to move. It ends with a finished, on-brand PDF export. The ASU EdPlus deck, document, and exec-status design systems in the demo are the same ones already saved in our workspace.
